After a blah start, Taroko Gorge got good. The roads were narrower and here and there tunnels were carved into the rock.

One of the last stops was my favourite. The beautiful Eternal Spring Shrine overlooking the river gorge and nestled in a lovely little spot with a spectacular view - enough to awe even the most jaded, headache-riddled travellers from New Zealand.
Nice one, Taiwan.
